If there is one thing that’s seems endemic at the moment it is the fact that certain book series continue to expand past the initial series. Instantly I think of Shadowhunters, The Grishaverse, Harry Potter (although that’s more in film than actual books), Shatter Me
They’re so popular and hyped, and it gets me thinking when is enough enough?
There’s always talk about the traditional Disney princesses and that they’re often not the best role models for the younger generations (girls in particular) because at the end of the story they have a prince and tend to live happily ever after.
I don’t want to truly say what I think about this because I avoid using profanity on my blog. Instead, I’ll go for something along the lines of “get a grip” because there’s so much more to the older, traditional Disney princesses than the desire for a prince and a happy ending.
If there is one thought going through my mind at the moment, it is how influential the online book community has been to my reading and book buying habits. It’s something that has always been on my mind but it is starting to become more prevalent and bothering me to the extent I’m not sure whether it is good or not.
A discussion post?
What is going on in the wold of A Dreamer’s Library? Has someone come in and decided that all the posts are becoming too similar that the blog needs a shake up?
I don’t know. It’s weird, albeit a nice weird!
Anyway, for this discussion post I want to tackle the topic of re-reading.
