Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Books #1: When Will My Life Begin?

Hello!

After due consideration, all my other series have been consigned to A Dreamer’s Library’s archive for now and I’m starting afresh. I still have ‘Showcase’ running which I’ll do another post for at some point but I wanted something new to work on that combines Disney and books and I think I’ve finally found it.

My Experience With DLP’s Green Card

I know I’m posting this super late but it’s taken me a while to get the right words together to write this in full.

Anyone who has been on Twitter since the Marvel (or not so Marvel) Soirée at Disneyland Paris has probably seen the outcry relating to DLP’s treatment of disabled guests and the usage of the green cards which usually provide disabled guests with certain entitlements, mainly the skipping of queues, and being given return times for character meet and greets. From what I read on Disabled in Disney about this particular soirée, those cards were not honoured for the meet and greets, and it resulted in someone having an epileptic seizure whilst waiting to meet a character because she was forced to wait in a long queue, enhanced by triggering flashing lights.

Once Upon A Dream

I’m a little away with fairies at the minute and I can’t think of a better way to land on earth and still have my head in the clouds by listening to and analysing Once Upon A Dream from Sleeping Beauty. I’ve been in a Sleeping Beauty mood recently and whilst I haven’t watched the film, I have listened to Tchaikovsky’s original ballet over and over because it is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard. It just screams of magic, fantasy, of faraway lands, and it’s not surprising to me that Disney choose to use the score as the foundation for Sleeping Beauty.

Favourite Shows in Disneyland Paris

Hello!

I’m on a mission at the minute to grow my repertoire of Top 5 lists and this time I want to dive back into Disneyland Paris, and specifically the shows they have produced over the years. Whilst I haven’t been back since 2012, I feel fortunate to have experienced the park at some of its best moments and most of that comes down to the themed celebrations and the shows. They highlight the magic of the park and Disney as a whole.

Changes to the Disneyland Hotel

Hello!

In the last few weeks or so, there have been some interesting and exciting Disneyland Paris announcements. Most of these are focusing on updates and the addition of a couple of attractions like Philharmagic. However, one of the big updates that has me worrying a lot, is the proposed changes to the Disneyland Hotel for 2020.

Disneyland Paris: This or That

Hello!

Welcome to my Disneyland Paris edition of This or That. I loved writing my animated film edition and as I am as just a big a fan of Disneyland Paris, I can guarantee this one is going to be just as fun and irritating. Of course, Disneyland Paris has two parks to its name, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios. I want to focus on just Disneyland Park for now as that is my favourite of the two parks and the one that’s more accessible for a lot of guests.

Disneyland Scores and Soundtracks

Hello!

If there is one thing I always connect with Disneyland and the other theme parks, it is the music. It is how I get to experience the magic of all the parks without having to hop on a plane or train. I don’t really say this but thank you YouTube because that is where I find and listen to most of the music. I do have an iTunes playlist but when I’m at home, it’s mainly YouTube.

Anyway. Today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite pieces of music and songs to come from Disneyland (past and present).

Disney Animated Classics: This or That

Hello!

You know how I said I was in a bit of a Disney post slump, well I came across this post on Lize’s blog Lize in Disneyland and I just had to join in on the fun! Similarly, I decided to stick with the animated classics and films because they are the Disney films I watch the most and subsequently have more opinions about.

Disneyland Attractions I’d Love To Experience

Hello!

Over a month or so ago, my family was throwing about the idea of a holiday to America and specifically, California. We scrapped it in the end due to family circumstances and the like but I got to thinking about Disneyland and what I would have loved to experience on such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity trip. When it is on my mind, I can see myself doing exactly what I do with Disneyland Paris –  walk under the Disneyland railroad and stand at the top of Main Street USA, thinking about how to fill a day in the park. I’d do a gentle saunter around the park, taking in the atmosphere and loving the feel of being there for the first time. I also might interact with a couple of characters and most likely experience some of the attractions not found in Disneyland Paris.
