August Reading Wrap Up.

The month end has come round again and it feels as if I haven’t done a wrap up post for a while. I honestly cannot remember the last time I sat down to write one!

Anyway, I’ve had a great reading month diving into an ARC of a spin-off series, re-reading some favourites, and re-reading a first book in a series I knew I’d enjoy more the second time round.

Breaking it down, I have 8 paperbacks and 2 audiobooks.

  • The Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman
  • Artemis Fowl, and The Arctic Incident, by Eoin Colfer
  • The Fowl Twins by Eoin Colfer (ARC)
  • The Other Side of the Dale, Over Hill and Dale, Head Over Heels in the Dales, Up and Down in the Dales and The Heart of the Dales (audiobook) by Gervase Phinn.
  • The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman (audiobook)

All range around the 4, 4.5 and 5 star mark.

Apart from The Dark Days Club which has now gone up in my favour, all are comfort reads and designed to get me out of a rough patch. Not that I’ve had those issues but I was crying out for something non-taxing this month and these were perfect!!

And the only book that isn’t a re-read is The Sleeper and the Spindle. However it will fast become a re-read at some point because I am dying to get my hands on a physical edition of this book. It was everything my fairytale-loving soul needed!

In other wrap-up news, I finally got round to replacing my Kindle Paperwhite. It is turquoise and glorious, and I’m so happy I can read my e-books again! (It’s the little things!) I’m also writing again so we’ll see how that goes. I’m still in the basic plotting and world-building stages at the moment, but I really want to put pen to paper soon and see what words have been hiding in my brain for months.

And that is it.

What have you read this month?
How was your August?

Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
xx
