We Totally Judged Books By Their Covers!

Gorgeous book covers are clearly in vogue right now!

Quite a few of the books Sarah and I have bought recently have some of the most stunning covers with amazing art and colours, and we are in awe!

Seriously as much as we want to read these books, we don’t want to damage these covers in any way.

Photographs don’t do them justice. The colours are perfect matches, they evoke very different feelings about the books even before reading the first pages, and they attract you instantly.

It is said you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but an effective and striking cover is important because if you have no idea what a book is about, the cover draws you in. It is what entices you to pick up a book and flip it over/look on the inside flap of a dust jacket to read the blurb. Sometimes the content might not be as likeable and beautiful but that’s the price we have to pay as readers and book collectors.

Do you think a good cover is important?
What are some books you’ve hauled recently with striking covers?

Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!

  1. I 100% judge a book by its cover, I can’t help it! Although of course the story itself is most important, a good cover is always eye-catching and definitely helps. I’m particularly drawn to anything blue with some simple subtle features- I particuarly love the cover of State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury 🙂

    1. Yes, I adore those covers! As you say the story is definitely the most important aspect of a book but there’s nothing more enticing than a striking cover. I particularly prefer those with minimalist and subtle features too.
