Bookish Naughty or Nice x2

Hello, and welcome back to the blog that hasn’t been posting much recently. Yeah, that’s me! I’ll probably get back into the swing of things after Christmas and once I’ve finally finished crocheting this behemoth of a blanket that my sister’s been asking for.

Anyway…

Today I was tagged in the Naughty or Nice book tag by Emma @ Terror of Knowing, and it was initially created by Jenn.

I realised when opening the post editor that I did do this tag a few months ago, but this time some of the questions are a little different so I’m looking forward to doing it again. I can’t remember what my score was last time but let’s forget about that and just get on with it now!

Rules
  • Tag & link the person who tagged you
  • Tag and link me/this post (if you would be so kind, I love reading your answers!)
  • Tick/cross off the ones you’ve done
  • Tag another 10 people!

I don’t know if I’ll be tagging 10 people, but who knows?

Let’s just get on with the tag!

Received an ARC and not reviewed it.

No, because I don’t really bother with ARCs. I’ve only ever had two physical ARCs and they’re only because I happened to pick them up at the NYALF back in March.

Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley

Following on from the first answer, that would be no. I don’t have Netgalley, and I’m personally not really bothered by it at all.

Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)

Not really. I very rarely post reviews on Goodreads, mainly as I always forget, and I only tend to use it to track book statistics. I don’t post that many reviews on my blog either, which is something I would like to improve on at some point.

Folded down the page of a book

Yes. I used to dog-ear my pages, especially the books I always used at school or university because it was handier than constantly losing a bookmark.

Accidentally spilled on a book

Yes. Coffee a few times, but only really on the edges of the pages.

DNF a book this year

Definitely. I’ve DNFed and “temporarily set aside” quite a few books over the year – Children of Blood and Bone, The Hazel Wood, The Little Paris Bookshop… I just picked them up at times that weren’t right for me and I’ve not got back to them yet.

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it.

Pretty covers are always going to attract my attention but I have to be interested in the synopsis in order to buy it.

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)

Of course.

Skim read a book

Yes. If I’m not enjoying a book or a specific passage, I will skim read. I also used to do it at university when I had set books I knew I wasn’t going to use for coursework or exams.

Completely missed your Goodreads goal.

No. I make it a point of setting my Goodreads goal at 50 books because I know that’s a completely manageable number for me. I’ve had a slower reading year this year and I’ve still passed that initial goal.

Borrowed a book and not returned it.

No. I always make sure to return a book I’ve borrowed.

Broke a book buying ban.

Yes. All the time!

Start a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about.

No, not really. I have forgotten minor details of books and possibly the names of minor characters but I never tend to forget the main plot.

Wrote in a book you were reading.

Yes. I did it all the time with my French and English literature books. They always had annotations in as it was easier than finding a separate piece of paper and constantly writing down the corresponding quote to anything I needed to write, especially when it was a long Shakespeare passage.

Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads.

Yes. I can often finish a book when I’m out and about and not have access to the internet as I tend to leave my data off. As much as I like using it to keep track of books I’ve read, I’m not pedantic about officially saying I’ve finished something. When I’ve got something more important to do, it can wait.

Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend.

No. I’ve never really borrowed books from friends, and when I did were living in the same house.

Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book.

No not really. Only my sister tends to ask if she can borrow a book and I have no qualms about saying no because they’ll mainly end up staying in the house.

Broke the spine of someone else’s book.

No. If I’m borrowing someone else’s book I will always try to be careful with it. I’ll easily break the spine of my own books though.

Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged.

Yes, accidentally. I do have a tendency to rip the edges sometimes when I’m putting them somewhere. I never mean to, it just happens.

Sat on a book accidentally.

I’m saying yes because I possibly have done this. If I’m reading in my favourite spot in the living room, I tend to leave my book on the arm rest and it might on occasion, slip onto the bottom of the chair and I don’t realise until I’ve sat down. That is if it hasn’t tried to slip down the side of the chair first.

And that is that. After tallying them up, there is an even split. I’m half naughty, half nice. I don’t know what to make of that, really.

Hmm…

It was such a fun tag to do anyway and I will admit now I have no idea who to tag. I think I’ll leave it open for anyone to do!

As always thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
xx
