Have courage and be kind.
Remember you’re the one who can fill the world with sunshine.
Our fate lives within us…you have to be brave enough to see it.
If you walk in the footsteps of a stranger, you’ll learn things you never knew.
Venture outside your comfort zone, the rewards are worth it.
These are just some of the words we hear from the Disney princesses and they’re all words to live by. They’re some of the words I’ve grown up hearing every day and I know I personally take them to heart.
If there is one thing that the Disney Princesses always prove, it is showing that you are the future and have the capability to do everything you ever dreamed.
So why do they get a bad rep and why do people consistently want to young children to grow out of loving Disney princesses? I think a lot of it comes down to innocence and believing that they are a symbol of childhood, not adolescence or adulthood.
Screw that because they transcend age!
If there is something I’ve realised, it is that I’m more a fan of the princesses now than I ever was as a child. It is not that I watch their films more, it is that I see parts of me in them that I previously didn’t know about.
I found this on Twitter a while ago and of course I hoped that all my characteristics and personality traits were filed away under Belle, you know the princess I’ve looked up to for my entire life. But I was wrong, because I can see parts of me in nearly every Princess up here, even in those that aren’t my favourites. What that tells me is that I’m not just one of these princesses. I am an embodiment of many that help me decide who I am and how I want to lead my life.
They are heroines and role models you can rely on and often those that are fictitious tell us more about the world than anyone in reality,
If they are characters that give you the motivation to get up and live your story, then ignore those people who say they’re weak and worthless. They are heroines. They are all strong. They all embody characteristics that are important and will never go unnoticed! Look up to them, learn from them, and take all the characteristics from them that you need to be the person you want to be!
