Soul Ripping Romance Tag

Hello!

How is everyone today?

I don’t know what I’ll be like when this post actually goes live, but as of right now, it is 4am and I can’t sleep. Quite a few things are driving me crazy but my general lack of sleep is right at the top of the list! I don’t know how that is affecting the quality of my blog posts but I’ll admit I tend to get more done at this stupid time of the morning.

Anyway, I can feel myself rambling and making this post longer than it ought to be. So, back in February, I was tagged by the lovely Sophie at Blame it on Chocolate to do the Soul Ripping Romance Tag. Although I do declare often enough that I’m not the biggest fan of romance, there are some romances that I am completely behind and love with all my heart (pun not intended).

The Guide:

  • Thank the person who tagged you and create a pingback to the original author – Nel at Reactionary Tales.
  • Share at least 5 (but more are welcome) romances that tugged your heart strings. They can be from books, movies, TV shows, manga; anything you can think of! They can be examples of sad tears, angry tears, happy tears or a combination of all three.
  • Nominate 5 (or more) people to share their emotional traumas
  • (Note: Try not to spoil the story for your readers in case they would like to check out these romances on their own)

I’m sticking with 5 main romances but these are just a selection of many that I love!

Regina and Robin from ONCE

Everyone goes on about Emma and Hook but when it comes to Once Upon A Time, it is these two that I love just that little bit more. My favourite character in the entire show was Regina/The Evil Queen and her character development was the BEST! Robin was a huge part of that and now I’ve splurged all that, it’s hitting me hard in the feels.

Claire and Lorenzo from Letters to Juliet

If you haven’t already seen this film and you love romantic comedies, just watch it. I don’t watch many romantic comedies anymore but this is still one of my favourites. I was addicted to it during my first year of university and this romance is just so lovely.

Alec and Magnus from The Mortal Instruments/Shadowhunters

I know this image is from the show but I was thinking of them more along the lines of their original book incarnations. I love watching this romance develop and it touches me a lot in some of the later Shadowhunter books.

Cassie and Sam from Good Witch

I don’t class it as soul ripping but the way the romance develops between these two is lovely, especially considering the romantic backgrounds of both characters. If you’ve seen the Good Witch films that prequel the show then you’ll know what I mean in regards to Cassie. Sam on the other hand simply deserves happiness and that’s Cassie! I can’t wait until April/May for season 4 of Good Witch to come onto Netflix!

Piper and Leo from Charmed

God damn these two go on such a journey over the 8 seasons. So much joy and heartbreak! Though the show has been finished for years, I also love that both Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause still have this amazing friendship and embody the magic of Charmed – again pun not intended.

So now it is time to tag people and I have no idea who has done this tag or not.

However, I choose:

Kate at Reading Through Infinity
Laura at Reading Sanctuary

As that will be it from me,
Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
xx

    1. No problem. Piper and Leo are certainly my favourite too. I need to rewatch the show at some point and remind myself why I loved it so much.
