I don’t know about you, but I find both the Cinderella animation and live action films to be some of those Disney films I will watch when I need reminding of quite a few life messages and lessons.
Personally, I do get a lot from Cinderella herself – being resilient in the face of hardship, being a good person despite overwhelming challenges, not being resentful, having the confidence to believe one’s life can change and improve… I probably said this on my first Cinderella post but when I get frustrated with certain things, especially when I’m helping out my grandparents (which is nearly every other day), I do stop for a few seconds and think about those lessons we learn from Cinderella. Remembering them helps me and I wouldn’t get through some of my days without them.
Before I get to any of the quotes from the films, there is one song in particular that I listen to on those days when the motivation and confidence is running on empty. We do have to wait for the credits to roll before we hear the song at the end of the live action film, but I believe it is one song worth waiting for.
I have a feeling I have talked about this song before but I love its messages of confidence and belief. It is everything I love and have always admired in Cinderella and more.
My other music must get fed up of me listening to this song because I will listen to this and its French interpretation over and over again.
Saying that, there is another song that I think it would be very hard pressed to beat.
It’s one of the classic ‘wishing’ songs that tells us to never stop dreaming, to believe that some of the happy dreams we have are worth saving and believing in. Whether it is due to this song being one of my favourites, or its messages mean a lot to me at the moment, I can’t stop singing it to myself. It has the ability to perk me up when I’m feeling a little down and it’s soothing to listen to.
Anyway, moving on from songs to quotes. I know that since the release of the live action films, a couple of these quotes have been floating around everywhere but they’re just lovely and important to remember.
“Have courage and be kind.”
“Where there is kindness, there is goodness. Where there is goodness, there is magic.”
“Even miracles take a little time.”
“If you’d lost all your faith I couldn’t be here, and here I am.”
I think there is something to be said for Cinderella as a film and fairy tale. It’s a timeless tale we all cherish in one way or another and it’s definitely one of the more powerful.
What are the messages you love from Cinderella?
Do they hold anything significant for you?
Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
