Cinderella Language Library

Now is the time to throw Cinderella under the spotlight of Language Library. As one of the more popular Disney characters and princesses, it wasn’t too difficult finding those all-important translations. I already knew of her French name thanks in part to Disneyland Paris, but from researching the others, I find it interesting that her name is one that is quite varied across different languages.

So what are they:

And others that I couldn’t fit on the graphic:

Assenpoester (Dutch)

シンデレラ, Shinderera (Japanese)

신데렐라, Sinderella (Korean)

Cenușăreasa (Romanian)

Cinderela (Portuguese)

The Portuguese translation surprises me the most because I expected that to look similar to the Spanish. Obviously not!

I also have two BSL translations/interpretations

I guarantee there will be other BSL translations of Cinderella across the UK but these two are the ones my sister and I know.

That’s all I’ve got for today!

Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
