Disney Challenge – Favourite Character Voice (spoken).

Welcome back to the 31 Day Disney Challenge.

We are now up to Day 13 and it is the horrible question of my favourite character voice, or from the way I’m twisting it, favourite voice actor/actress.

I am not liking this question because Disney have had some amazing voice actors and many have provided voices for multiple characters – Sterling Holloway and Jim Cummings to give a couple of examples.

However, I have decided on:

Verna Felton

She is someone else who lent her voice to many characters:

Mrs Jumbo and the Elephant Matriarch in Dumbo
The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella
The Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland
Aunt Sarah in Lady and the Tramp
Flora and Queen Leah in Sleeping Beauty
Eloise in Goliath II
Winifred in The Jungle Book (posthumously)

I think my favourite is her role as the Fairy Godmother. I love the sensitiveness in her voice and how it helps to guide Cinderella into fighting for what she wants.

Fun Facts:

Verna Felton died from a stroke on December 14, 1966, one day before Walt Disney”s passing.

When she was providing the voice for Aunt Sarah, her son Lee Millar provided the voice from Jim Dear.

Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
