Welcome back to Down the TBR Hole, the meme created by Lia over at Lost in a Story, to help us gain more control over our TBRs.
I’ve not looked at this meme for a month as I thought that I had finished with it for the time being, but now looking at my TBR again, I’ve realised that there are some books I’m not going to get to for ages and so there’s no point in them being on there. With my tbr in particular, I have to be cruel to be kind, so yeah, I am going to get rid of some more books.
The rules for this meme are as follows:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Only with these books, I won’t be keeping them. They’re going!
A lot of them, I have lost all motivation to read or even purchase but quite a few of them are also books that I am only temporarily kicking off the tbr. For a couple in particular, I need to get through a good number of books on my tbr before I have the time to sit and devote myself to them completely.
So, these are the 10 facing the chop:
Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell
The Final Empire by Brian Sanderson
Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine
Legend by Marie Lu
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
The View on the Way Down by Rebecca Wait
Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta
Replica by Lauren Oliver
Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky
The Mangle Street Murders by M.R.C Kasasian
And that is that. As I said, this was a spontaneous idea to carry on with Down the TBR Hole after a few weeks of not participating but considering the number of books I’ve bought and added to the tbr recently, it was warranted. Besides I would probably forget about a lot of these anyway.
Have you read any of these?
What are your thoughts?
Thanks for reading and have a good day!
