I don’t usually do two posts in one day, but when I noticed that I had been tagged to do this new Disney book tag by Mandy at Book Princess Reviews and Zuky at Book Bum I couldn’t resist. I’m on a little bit of a Disney and book cross-over kick at the minute for both blogs so this tag seemed an ideal post to start off with.
- Mention where you saw the tag/thank whoever tagged you because that’s always good fun
- Tag Book Princess Reviews and Zuky with our posts so we can check out the wonderful Princess fun throughout the blog world
- Play a game of tag at the end
This book (like the movie) started it all
Favourite debut book from an author.
Obviously this is the debut and only book from Whitney Gardner but this was so good that I can’t wait to see what else she writes.
A diamond in the rough
Just like Cinderella, you either didn’t expect much out of this character in the beginning but they turned out to be a total gem.
Zuzana from Daughter of Smoke and Bone
I can’t really explain why, I just love her so much for her general sass and wit.
A book that makes you sleepy or just could not hold your attention
I got swept up in the John Green hype a few years ago and wanted to read all of his books but once I read this bore, I snapped out of it very quickly. As well as being completely dull, it was excruciatingly annoying and I cannot believe I didn’t DNF it.
Under the Sea
A book with a water/ocean setting
I am going to say this counts because it is set on an island, and Ami has to travel the sea in a boat to get back to her own island, although it was strictly forbidden.
Beauty and the Books
Name a book with the best bookworm/book lover
There were quite a few books and characters I could choose from but none would be better than Matilda. She was the first character besides Belle that I truly felt connected to and with her extraordinary powers of telekinesis, she is amazing!
The Thief and the Princess
Name a book with an unlikely love story (either in terms of romance or a book you didn’t expect to love so much)
Thanks to Illumina being hit and miss, I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like this book but it was incredible. It was action packed, witty, a little gruesome, and full of great details.
The Real Life Princess
Name a book that is based on a real life person you want to read/have read.
I read this book at the start of the year, and really enjoyed it despite how long it took me to read. I’m now on a quest to read and find more of his books.
The Princess That Saved Her Country
Name the fiercest heroine you know.
I don’t know if fierce is the right adjective to describe Elizabeth Bennett but she is sharp, blunt, and is not afraid to speak her mind even if it does get her into a bit of bother with characters like Caroline Bingley and Lady Catherine de Bourg from time to time (to be fair, they deserve it with their snooty attitude)
The Princess With the Coolest and Most Diverse Crew
Name a diverse book whether it is a diverse set of characters (like Tiana’s group of Naveen, Louis, Ray, and more) or just diverse in general.
Let Your Longgggggggg Hair Down
Name the longest book you’ve ever read.
My edition of Inheritance comes in at 849 pages. Sooo long.
I Determine My Own Fate
A book where there is no love story/interest or isn’t needed
I know there are more but this is the only one I could think of right now. I love the fact this is romance free because it gives August and Kate the chance at just being friends, which is pretty great.
A book in a winter/cold setting
Not all of it is in Winter but since that is where the Beast’s castle is located, and there is snow on the cover, it will do.
How Far I’ll Go
A character that goes on a journey
I’ll say Diana Bishop from A Discovery of Witches.
At first she is just an Oxford scholar, a historian and then when she comes across Matthew de Clairmont, her whole world changes. Of course, she discovers who she truly is the process but it takes the whole trilogy for her to uncover everything there is to know about her, her magic and her destiny. My explanation might sound rather cliché and typical YA, but this series is anything but and I highly recommend it!
And that is that. Now it is tagging time and I will tag:
And anyone else who wants to participate.
Thanks for reading and have a good day!
