T5W – Fictional Items to Give as Gifts

Hello everybody and welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday. This is a weekly Goodreads challenge/meme created by Ginger Reads Lainey, and now hosted by Sam over at Thoughts on Tomes.

I haven’t done one of these for the last few weeks, so it’s nice to get back into the swing of it with a good topic.

These choices are in no particular order so let’s get started:

A copy of Hogwarts: A History

I could have gone for any book that is mentioned in Harry Potter but as some of them are now physical books themselves (Tales of Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them etc) it was hard to think of one that might spark a particular interest. However I think I might have found such a book with Hogwarts: a History because who doesn’t want to know more about this spectacular and magical castle. I know if I had a copy I would read it cover to cover just like Hermione. I also think it would definitely make a good gift for any new witch or wizard wanting to go to Hogwarts.

Nimbus 2000 Broomstick.

I know I’m staying on the Hogwarts Express with this next gift but we all want the opportunity to fly, right? I know a lot of people would probably want the speed of a Firebolt but if they were new to the world of magic, flying, and Quidditch, a Nimbus 2000 would probably be a more reliable and easy to handle broomstick.

A Stele

There’s a new ascendant in town and in need of weapons and tools. The first thing one needs is one’s own stele to draw all the necessary runes for fighting demons, protecting oneself, and glamouring within the mundane world. It’s also such a cool piece of equipment to possess.

A Sonic Screwdriver

This is one tool no one would want to be without, thus making for an excellent gift. Move over The Doctor!

Grav Boots

Out of Red Rising, these boots would be the gifts of the season. To be able to get anywhere at a moment’s notice, not have to worry about traffic, feel the rush of adrenaline and endorphins when out and about… They would probably be a little expensive for my personal liking but there are no doubts that would be paid off rather quickly!

And there we have it.

I actually found this harder than I thought it would be.

What do you think?
What would you give as gifts?

    1. I’ve only read the first two books and they are good, but not really my cup of tea. I still don’t know of I’ll read the last one or not.

I would also want all of these, so I’d probably end up buying them but keeping them for myself.
